Vintage 2011October 13, 2011
The forecast made during the grape Véraison about the late vintage, has come true and it was delayed for almost 10 days as compared with the average long-term records of previous years. In 2010 Marani ended the vintage in Kakheti by the end of September, whereas this year, by the mid of October the fourth of the grapes are yet to be harvested. It is worth mentioning that from the end of September the weather changed to cool and dry that resulted in equal and prolonged ripening of the grapes. It is one of the pre-requisites of making the superb wine. The results of tasting of new and freshly fermented wine are very promising and we do hope that the 2011 grape harvest will be among the best in Marani history. |
