Zurab Ramazashvili becomes the Burgundy Wine KnightMay 15, 2017
Zurab Ramazashvili, the co-founder of Telavi Wine Cellar was nominated as a member of the French “Brotherhood of Knights of the Wine-Tasting Cup”. The brotherhood known as “Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin” initiated the new Knight during a solemn ceremony on May 13 at the ancient castle of Château du Clos de Vougeot in the heart of Burgundy, the famous wine producing province of France. Mr. Ramazashvili shared his impression of the ceremony as follows: “It is a great honor to become a knight of such a highly-esteemed wine brotherhood, which is almost a century old. The respect of traditions and devoted love to the wine unite the Chevaliers from all over the world. The brotherhood of wine knights of Burgundy is more than a local club in a province of France – it has expanded worldwide, having around 40 branches in the USA only. I think it could be a great idea to found a similar brotherhood in Georgia, which would bring together the Georgian wine lovers and aficionados from around the globe and thus create a strong lever to boost the promotion of Georgian wine and its ancient traditions.” |
